Een verslagje van een bezoek van AC (animal control) na een klacht over Strasser bekappingen?
<< So today I had a visit from Animal Control in response to a complaint
that my horses are not cared for. Whilst I am certain the complaint
was the result of some maliciousness, as my horses have all been
regularly fed, wormed & their feet trimmed according to what I know of
Strasser principles with HUGE improvements, some are ongoing projects
& are recovering from years of shoeing/ trimming. My problem is that
the officer was totally unfamiliar of the hairline angle/heel height
criteria we use & judged their feet as neglected because they have old
poor hoof wall growing out. I keep the toes as short as possible from
underneath, bars correct & scoops in front of heels. The horses are
the soundest they have ever been with new growth coming in beautifully
following coffin bone. No more abcesses or lameness. Does anyone have
any thoughts, comments or advice on how I could handle this?

Unfortunately this happening all over the country. AC gets a call and
they have to investigate, which is good, but then when they arrive I
think they are already looking for trouble. My next door neighbor
called on me. I was flabbergasted when they showed up. They invented
this large lie and AC wouldn't tell me what the complaint was so they
spent 3 hours here looking for something that wasn't. They left and I
never heard from them again, but now I live each day worrying about
if everything is done. (2 years ago) How I found out about who made
the complaint and what it was they had called the sheriff and it was
so bad they didn't even check it out; they called AC immediately.
I have a form now that all Public Servants have to fill out when they
arrive.
Don't answer any questions, and if you think they are coming back to
do something to you, get an attorney and have the attorney call them.
It's a shame when people that care for their animals are now being
picked on. I'm all for doing something to animal abusers, so don't
get me wrong, and I know some don't think they are, but when your
horses are fed, wormed, trimmed and have a vet when needed, you
aren't a abuser. I love all of my animals and would go hungry before
I would let them go hungry or have anything happen to them. I also
had tons of records so records are good too if you have them. Also
call your vet and have your vet call them. I think you can download
this public servant questionnaire off of the NONAIS site. If not you
write to me privately and I will send it.
Hier is de link naar de vragenlijst, de public servant questionnaire , die men in moet vullen voor een onderzoek, hebben we in Nederland ook zoiets? In die tijd die het kost om dit in te vullen kun je al je paarden ontvoeren en onderduiken :)
