Ik heb regelmatig kontakt met degenen die 'the Kikkuli experiment' hebben uitgevoerd.
Hierbij het resultaat van vandaag dat ik hen gezonden heb:
¡¡¡¡Halleluja Kikkuli!!!!
Today we have done the first country-ride on Capricho under the saddle.
To measure is to know, thus ceterus paribus; we first established and registred several days with a fixed route and thereafter the exact same tempi mounted.
The proof of the pudding: not a long route, only 6 km.s, but fairly difficult, with 500 metres altitude diffrence and all unsurfaced. Richelle and equipment weigh 18% of the stallion's own weight.
The attached foto:
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Album=NC3HAQ6E was taken halfway the ascend of the hill. You can't even see our house as it lies straight down, out of sight in de valley behind/below.
Richelle did dismount on the steepest parts of the descend, about 200 metres in total.
The data:
- led: 83% within zône, av. BPM in zône 95, recovery rate <60 = <1 minuut
- mounted: 80% within zône, av. BPM in zône 104, recovery rate <60 = < 1 minuut
Less then 10% rise in heartrate and identical recovery rates are a clear indication of the good preparation the Kikkuli-based training provides.
The avarage speed is about 8 km/h, including p.p.'s, which is not too bad considering the dislevel and surface.
