Hello Piet!!

Nice to hear from a fellow horseman!! I enjoy riding the police horses in Houston Texas and feel through my horsemanship education I have been able to have a better relationship wiht my horse and understand his needs a lot better. I have educated myself in the barefoot trim and feel my horse and along with the 25 other barefoot police horses, they are much better off without metal shoes and allowing other farriers to care for our horses.

The bit less riding started a few years ago when I started in the Parelli program and found that I was a mess with my hands and through that, was not communicating the way I should with my horse. In the program you start out without a bit and teach your focus, hands and body to communicate clearly to the horse. I have much better control and a few other Officers are now riding bitless and shoeless and enjoying it also. The horses are also enjoying it.
